Jason Gabrielson was SMWC's Head Coach in March, 2000 until March, 2002. He was and is a tremendous wrestler in all styles having won many major titles. He started serious wrestling at the age of 5 years, competing in events all over the world. He won numerous state and national championships during his pre-hs years, accumulating an amazing 1028 wins. Jason is also an accomplished Judo and Sombo wrestler. He was the Maryland State Judo Champion three times and is lifetime undefeated in Sombo with numerous national and international titles.

Prior to becoming SMWC Head Coach, Jason helped his father coach championship SMWC youth and open teams for many years. In his first year as SMWC's Head Coach, the club captured the Maryland State Wrestling Association Folkstyle Club Championships, the Virginia Freestyle Club Duals Championships and the East Coast Freestyle Club Championships. Despite knee problems, Jason returned to the NCAA Division I ranks in 2002 for a final season at Millersville University where he captured the OW at the NCAA East Regional Championships.

Jason is currently an assistant coach at Millersville. He also regularly works at camps and presents clinics when time permits. Jason has a large following of serious wrestlers in our area.
