Note from Jim Howard - SMWC Hall-of-Fame Member June 19, 1998 To Friends and Family, I injured my shoulder back in Feb working out with the High School team getting ready for the State Championships. The injury was not improving so an MRI was done to assess how much damage. The results of the MRI indicated Surgery was about the only option. Once inside my shoulder the Surgeon found much more damage than anticipated and the surgery time went from 1.5 hours to 3 hours. The major items listed below: Damage to the bicep tendon, damage (tear) to the rotator cup, damage to cartilage, and bone spurs were removed as well as a piece of my collar bone. The recovery time after the operation went from 4-6 weeks to 4-6 months. I really was looking forward to the 4-6 weeks. That was something I could live with. The 4-6 months I am definitely having problems with. Jim Howard
